new Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary General a.i. in the CAR, assumed duty
Bangui, March 3, 2014 - The Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary General a.i. of the United Nations, Georg Charpentier, arrived in the CAR on March 1, and has immediately assumed duty. Mr. Charpentier will also serve as the Resident Coordinator and Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in the Central African Republic at the level of Assistant Secretary General (ASG).

Chairperson of international Commission of Inquiry visits the Central African Republic
Bangui, 25 February 2014 – The Chairperson of the International Commission of Inquiry tasked with investigating human rights violations in the Central African Republic, Bernard Acho Muna, will be visiting Bangui from 26 February until 1 March, for the first time since his appointment last month. The purpose of Mr. Muna’s visit is to establish formal contacts with local authorities, including the Head of State of the Transition, Mrs Catherine Samba-
Panza, and other relevant stakeholders.
